Scott Monument

 

East Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh, EH2 2EJ

Scott Monument is situated in the heart of Edinburgh in Princes Street Gardens.  The momument was created to honor the Scottish writer Sir Walter Scott and it was built in 1845.

There are a total of 287 steps that take you to the top of the momument as you go up a narrow winding staircase.  There are several points of interest on the way to the top including 64 states of characters from Sir Walter Scotts novels.

At the top of the monument you will enjoy one of the best views of the city with a 360 degree panaramic views of Edinburgh's city centre.
